An Awkward Experience Through Altered States of Universal Phenomena

Stepping through the victorian door, I realized suddenly everything had changed. There was no floor that I could visualize, but instead infinite space streched out before me. I looked back simultaneously as the door snapped shut. A vast universe laid out before me, but not seemingly centralized as I had been accustomed. "This simulator must be broken", I thought to myself. I instructed the computer to transport my perspective as if I stood on the surface of the Earth.

The simulator rushed the visuals forward in a blinding array of fireworks and light, until we reached the terran system and in turn, the Mother planet. It appeared from the heyday of mankind, a sparking globe of orange and blue light as we passed through the outer atmosphere of the dark side of the planet. The computer tells me it is 9:30 p.m. in Cleveland, OH, where we will be landing to view the stars once again.

"But I can hardly see a star through all this artificial light!" I exclaimed and proceeded to order the computer to locate an uncivilized region of the Americas. "On top of a Mountain maybe?" The simulator swirled me through hemispheres of artificial light dotting the landscape for miles. I noticed the lights following corridors of travel and into urban sites. The light blanketed the night sky from view. We travelled to somewhere in the Rockies, finally resting ontop of a High Peak overlooking a neverending mountain range. The stars shined brilliantly in the night sky. But the MilKy Way was not at the zenith at this time of year. "Computer, fast forward time until the Milky Way appears overhead." And so it appeared.
