Let It Bang
The past few months I’ve been collaborating with the new hip hop / synth / indie rock group PRJCTS. This music video for PRJCTS debut single “Let it Bang” is the fruit of our efforts recently.
The concept for the video originated from the lyrics for “Let it Bang”, a song about brushing off the trials life throws at you. We decided to go with one of the most ordinary experiences for most working Americans, the commute. We took an abstract approach, compositing the shots of the lead singer, DJ, and driving scene with an effect reminiscent of some of my earlier work and the famous Rutt-Etra Synthesizer. Is this video depicting reality or a virtual expression of the real? You decide.
“Let It Bang” was shot with Canon 7D, edited in FCPX and composited with Motion 5. This music video is currently featured on prjctsmusic.com, Youtube, and Vimeo. I also designed prjctsmusic.com and will be administering the website in the future.
